Panaji: Chief elector officer Sanjay Goel, inspector general of police (IGP) Ajay Kishan Sharma, and deputy inspector general of police (DIG) Varsha Sharma, along with others, were transferred from the state under an order issued by the ministry of home affairs (MHA) on Thursday. MHA has transferred two Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to Goa.MHA transferred SP Gaurav Sikarwar, presently posted at Jammu and Kashmir, and SP Sweta Singh Chauhan to Goa. SP (FRRO) Arshi Aadil has been transferred to Jammu and Kashmir.With one IGP and DIG each being transferred, Goa police will have two vacant posts of senior police officers. Goa police have two IGP and DIG sanctioned posts. Sharma and Chauhan have been transferred to Delhi. South Goa SP Tikam Singh Verma has been transferred to Jammu and Kashmir.Recently, Verma was posted as South Goa SP, also holding charge of the newly-formed third district, Kushavati. He took charge from South Goa SP Shekhar Prabhudesai who was given additional charge. Singh was first posted as South Goa SP in Jan 2025.Goel has been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh, but no IAS officer has been sent to Goa.
