In the ongoing scandal over Karnataka public service commission (KPSC) chairman Shivashankarappa Sahukar having allegedly favoured the recruitment of his two daughters for Industrial department extension officers and subsequent decision of the KPSC board to bar him from attending meetings in the future and submitting an adverse report against him, the chairman has written to chief secretary Shalini Rajneesh citing the facts as per his understanding.Sahukar, in his letter, has said he was nowhere involved in the recruitment of his two daughters and he had no idea about them submitting income and caste certificates which do not supposedly match their societal standing. In his letter, which also includes newspaper cuttings and the recruitment rules to the industrial extension officers, he has claimed that since the posts are Group C posts it does not involve interview process and thus the allegations against him are void.Sahukar has urged the CS to act upon the facts of the case and not only on the report of the board decisions which involves even the KPSC secretary’s opinion.Ends
