70% electors mapped ahead of roll revision in UT
Chief Electoral Officer Prerna Puri chairs a review meeting with election officials to assess preparedness for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Chandigarh.

Chandigarh: Nearly 70% of electors in Chandigarh have already been mapped during the pre-revision phase of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, officials said.Chief electoral officer Prerna Puri chaired a review meeting on SIR preparedness, attended by the joint CEO, electoral registration officers (EROs), assistant EROs and other officials.She emphasised the need for accurate, updated and error-free rolls and directed that the exercise be carried out strictly as per EC guidelines.Officials were asked to ensure regular coordination with booth-level officers (BLOs) for monitoring and timely resolution of issues. The nodal officer (training) was directed to conduct training programmes to ensure uniform implementation of the revision process.Citizens can seek assistance through the voter helpline (1950) or use the “Book a Call Request with BLO” feature on the ECINET mobile app, an official said.
