Dhubri: Seven minor girls from Dhubri district, who were allegedly trafficked and employed at a brick kiln in Bihar, have been rescued in a joint operation by child‑protection authorities and police.The prime accused, Chunni Mukhiya, owner of brick kiln, was arrested by Bihar Police under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.The rescue was carried out through coordinated efforts by the Bihar administration and its counterparts in Dhubri.After completing legal formalities and verifying documents, the seven girls were safely brought back to Dhubri on Tuesday evening. They were handed over to their parents and guardians following official verification.Nur Alam, protection officer of the Dhubri district child protection unit, said the minors were returned to their families as per guidelines. “They have been handed over to their legal guardians after verification,” he said.
