Rajkot: A dispute over the use of abusive language escalated into a fatal stabbing on the night of July 17 in the Gokulnagar area of Jamnagar. C Division police registered an FIR against seven persons, including members of the same family, for murder and rioting.According to the complaint filed by Babu alias Ranjitsinh Jethwa, around 9pm on Friday a woman named Sonuba Jadeja approached the his house. She accused his family of shouting obscenities in the neighbourhood’s ground. Despite Jethwa’s insistence that neither he nor his family members had used foul language, an argument ensued.The altercation turned deadly when six other persons — Gumansinh Jadeja, Pradipsinh Jadeja, Jaylo Rathod, Divyarajsinh Vaghela, Joshnaba and her husband — arrived at the scene. Acting as an unlawful assembly, members of the group had a knife and a stick.They allegedly dragged the complainant’s younger brother, Mayursinh, into a house, and began kicking and punching him. During the attack, Pradipsinh Jadeja drew a knife and fatally stabbed the complainant’s other brother, Pradipsinh Jethwa.Pradipsinh was bleeding profusely and was taken to GG Hospital on a motorcycle. The attending doctor pronounced him dead on arrival. An offence under BNS Sections 103 (1), 189 (2), 191, 191 (2), and 191 (3) was registered.
