Gurgaon: A six-month-old girl with a head injury was abandoned at Chukanni Mata temple in Vishwakarma Colony on Thursday night, police said.The girl is out of danger, police said.The infant was spotted by a woman who came to the temple with her son. She found the girl crying and alerted a member of the temple management committee, Sachin Panchal. The infant had already sustained the injury by that time. Panchal took her to a hospital and the doctors, in turn, informed police.Police found the entire incident had been captured on a CCTV installed near the temple gate.According to the footage, a man, believed to be her father, was seen slowly entering the temple premises with the infant, leaving her there. An officer said the man is a labourer.However, the girl did not have the head injury at the time the man left her. Police believe she fell down moments after the man left, but they are trying to ascertain how exactly she was injured.“The girl was in pain and bleeding when we took her to the hospital. The culprit should be punished for such an inhuman and shameful act,” Panchal said.No case had been registered till the time of filing this report.Station house officer of Sector 10-A police station Dilbag said an investigation had been launched. “We are investigating the reason behind the incident and will take appropriate action in the case as per our findings,” he said.
