5 held after firing during community clash in Bhilwara suburb

Bhilwara: Police arrested five people after a clash between two Kir community groups in Sanganer, a Bhilwara suburb, led to firing that left a youth seriously injured by his own weapon, police said Wednesday.Subhash Nagar police station incharge Kailash Bishnoi said officers received information late on Sept 11 about firing near Taswariya village on Bhilwara Road. They found the injured youth and, with villagers’ help, took him to the district hospital.“The youth named Lakhan was self-injured as the country-made katta exploded in his hand while firing,” Bishnoi said.Police said the incident caused tension in Sanganer. A court remanded three arrested men — Sohan Lal Kir, Lakhan Kir and Gopal Kir — in police custody for three days.Bishnoi said the clash was linked to an old rivalry, with a case previously registered against Gopal and others. Police are seeking the pistol and country-made pistol allegedly used in the firing.
