Bhilwara: A major road accident was averted in Tonk district on Wednesday when the tyre of a car running at high speed on the Jaipur-Kota National Highway (NH-52) suddenly burst. As soon as the tyre burst, the driver lost control of the car and the vehicle fell into an approximately 15-foot-deep under-construction culvert on the roadside. A mesh of iron rods was laid out in the under-construction culvert in front of the Tonk Transport Department (RTO) office, but it was fortunate that all the people in the car had a narrow escape.According to eyewitnesses, the car went out of control and fell directly into the culvert, due to which the front part of the vehicle was completely damaged. At the time of the accident, a total of five people, including two innocent children, were riding in the car.As soon as information about the incident was received, local people reached the spot and, without wasting time, started relief and rescue work. With the help of the people, all the injured were safely brought out and taken to Saadat Hospital in Tonk in private vehicles. At the hospital, a team of doctors conducted health examinations of all the injured and began treatment.Among those injured in the accident is Manoj Mahar, the personal assistant of Narayan Singh, the brother of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Manoj Mahar was going from Jaipur to Kota with his family when this accident occurred.
