Jaipur: Delhi’s Mayra Singh Sadh emerged as the ‘golden girl’ of the 42nd Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championships, winning four gold medals and setting new meet records in all four events at the Sawai Mansingh Singh Stadium Swimming Pool here on Sunday.Mayra continued her winning run on the final day, claiming the girls’ 100m freestyle gold in a new meet-record time. Lakshmi Sahasra Siraparapu of Maharashtra finished with silver, while Gayathri Somayaji of Karnataka took bronze.In the boys’ section, Tamil Nadu’s Abdul Hafeez, Karnataka’s S Krish and Odisha’s Sourav Patel continued their winning run by claiming gold medals in their respective events.

In other girls’ events, Assam’s Kasturi Gogoi won the 50m breaststroke gold, followed by Karnataka’s Inchara HR and Siri Preetham, who took silver and bronze respectively.Karnataka’s Rithanya Shivakumar grabbed the 100m breaststroke gold, with Kaneshka S Sivakumar of Tamil Nadu taking silver and Delhi’s Mayra Singh Sadh the bronze.Sanithi Mukherjee of Bengal clinched the 200m butterfly gold. Manya R. Wadhwa of Karnataka won silver, while Dhyani Patel of Gujarat took bronze.

Tamil Nadu’s Dhivashree Keasvan also struck gold in the girls’ 50m backstroke and 100m freestyle, with Shreya Bini of Kerala taking silver and Serena Saroha of Haryana winning bronze.In 100m freestyle, Shivani Karra of Telangana finished with silver, while Indraany M. Menon of Kerala took bronze.Hafeez of Tamil Nadu won the boys’ 200m freestyle gold, with David Sapam and Manghalsana Thangjam, both from Manipur, claiming silver and bronze respectively.S Krish of Karnataka claimed the boys’ 50m backstroke gold, while AP Arya Sathar of Tamil Nadu and Aarush Das of Telangana took silver and bronze respectively.Ayush Chauhan of SSCB won the boys’ 100m breaststroke gold. Danil Emmanuel Saldanha of Karnataka finished second, while Gaurav Raj of Chhattisgarh took bronze.Odisha’s Sourav Patel claimed the boys’ 50m breaststroke gold, with Shivendra Yadav of Uttar Pradesh and Hridspandan Sarmah of Assam taking silver and bronze respectively.The boys’ 100m freestyle title went to Avinash Nishad of SSCB. The lone Rajasthan hope, Dev Kumar, was unfortunately disqualified from the 100m freestyle for a false start.Rajasthan Swimming Association president Anil Vyas said Tamil Nadu topped the overall medal tally with 13 gold medals, followed by Karnataka with 10 and Bengal with six.Anil Vyas thanked the volunteers, members and officials of the participating teams for helping make the championships a grand success.Chief guest DGP Rajeev Sharma gave away prizes to the winners.
