4-year-old girl suffered severe injuries after a pack of six stray dogs attacked her

BENGALURU: A four-year-old girl was seriously injured after being attacked by a pack of six stray dogs near the indoor stadium in CQAL Layout, Sahakara Nagar, on Sunday evening.The victim, identified as Sangeetha, 4, belongs to a family of construction workers from Yadgir. The incident occurred around 4. 30pm when the child was walking on the road near the indoor stadium in CQAL Layout.According to the CCTV footage, a pack of stray dogs suddenly pounced on her, causing severe injuries.Hearing the child’s cries, nearby residents rushed to the spot and rescued her from the dogs. She was immediately taken for medical treatment. According to sources, the child has received two injections and is currently undergoing treatment. The dogs have bitten the girl at multiple places including hands, legs and face.The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Bengaluru North City Corporation.The attack has triggered outrage among local residents, who alleged that they had repeatedly complained to civic authorities about the increasing stray dog menace in the area but received no effective response.Residents said the presence of aggressive stray dogs has become a major safety concern, particularly for children and elderly people.Following the incident, officials from the corporation’s animal husbandry department visited the spot, gathered information and inspected the area. Civic officials have assured residents that steps will be taken at the earliest to control the stray dog menace in the locality.The incident has once again raised concerns over the growing stray dog population in Bengaluru and the need for urgent measures to ensure public safety.
