Jaipur: Four men were arrested Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a sub-inspector posted in Jhalawar after a late-night dispute over repeated honking and flashing headlights near Polo Victory on Station Road on Sept 4, police said.SHO, Sindhi Camp, Vandana Narula said that the accused were identified as Govind Singh, Suryapratap Singh, Gajendra Singh and Virendra Singh. Police also seized the car allegedly used by them and a lighter-shaped dummy pistol that was allegedly displayed during the altercation.“The incident occurred around 4am when the sub-inspector objected to the group repeatedly honking and flashing the car’s headlights. An argument followed, during which the four allegedly assaulted him. One of them also allegedly threatened him with the dummy pistol,” Narula said.Investigators examined CCTV footage from the area and used it to identify the car and its occupants. All four were detained and questioned on Sept 22.Police said the accused told investigators that they worked at hotels and clubs in Vaishali Nagar, 22 Godown and Bani Park, with some employed as general managers and cashiers. They had allegedly finished work late that night and were driving around Jaipur after partying when the incident occurred.Investigators said the group became annoyed after the sub-inspector objected to their behaviour near Polo Victory.
