Hyderabad: Nearly 35 lakh electors across Telangana have received enumeration forms in the first two days of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), though the exercise was briefly slowed in some areas due to Muharram.Chief electoral officer C Sudharshan Reddy said distribution resumed on Friday in most constituencies where it had faltered on Day One.The drive is currently concentrated in cities and basthis, while gated communities and apartment complexes remain largely uncovered.Officials acknowledged that booth‑level officers (BLOs) will need to intensify visits to these residential clusters in the coming days. BLOs are also reaching out to electors who have shifted from their registered addresses, a challenge that has emerged prominently in urban areas.Complaints surfaced in parts of Hyderabad about photograph mismatches and errors in pre‑printed particulars. Some electors even reported receiving blank forms. Reddy, however, termed these “isolated incidents” and stressed they did not reflect the overall exercise.A resident Yash Khetarpal said a BLO had left forms at his house, but the one issued in his wife’s name carried the photograph of an unidentified man. He described the mismatch as a “technical glitch.” The CEO reiterated that such cases were limited and did not undermine the state‑wide distribution.Concerns were also raised about delays in commencing house‑to‑house enumeration in several areas, including Borabanda. Social activist Shaik Faiyaz Ahmed said forms had not reached the electoral registration officer’s office despite BLO visits being scheduled to begin on June 25.He urged authorities to clarify whether the timeline would be extended to ensure no household was left out, and called for steps to guarantee a fair and transparent process.Meanwhile, BLO Saritha of Moosapet explained the logistical hurdles. “Our forms are not in order. We are segregating area‑wise and reaching out to the voters. Initially we are covering bastis and old localities,” she said.
