Thane: A 30-year-old social media content creator died in a tragic motorcycle accident in the Mohone area of Kalyan early Saturday after reportedly losing control of his bike on a stretch of road covered with loose gravel. The deceased, identified as Prem Bhati, was returning home in Mohone after dropping his wife at her parents’ residence around 2:30 am when the accident occurred. The victim suffered severe head injuries after the bike skidded and was rushed by passers-by to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Shankar Salve, a family friend, said Prem was the eldest of two brothers and had married last year. He shifted focus to a career in online content creation while his family was involved in a local salon business in Kalyan. The incident has triggered criticism over poor road conditions in the area. Local activists alleged negligence by civic authorities, claiming that repeated complaints about loose gravel and unsafe road surfaces had gone unaddressed.“We have been reporting about the bad condition of roads several times, but the corporation has failed to heed. We have now demanded action against responsible officials and warned of protests if conditions do not improve,” said Shivaji Patil, a local activist and an auto union functionary.Police from Khadakpada Police Station confirmed the incident and said investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.A senior official from the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation said civic works were ongoing in parts of the city but asserted that safety measures are being taken to ensure materials do not obstruct roads.
