3 weeks after airport launch, fix for potholed roads around it
In March, a small part of the stretch was repaired ahead of the airport’s inauguration

Noida: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will surface and re-strengthen a key stretch leading to the Noida International Airport’s cargo terminal, aiming to improve connectivity on the cargo route, which is riddled with potholes and uneven stretches. While passengers have direct access to the airport from Yamuna Expressway, the designated cargo route from the Jewar toll plaza to the airport via Sabota Mustafabad and Kishorpur has severely deteriorated over the years. The road, part of the Sikandrabad-Jewar route, also passes through old village settlements and is used by local residents alongside cargo traffic.Muazzam Khan, a resident of Rohi village, said the stretch has not been repaired for a long time. “The resurfacing will improve commuting and ease the situation,” he said.YEIDA floated a tender for the project on Thursday, which is estimated to cost Rs 1.7 crore and has a completion timeline of three months. July 10 is the last date for submission of bids, which will be opened on July 14.Officials said the work will restore the riding quality of the road and improve connectivity for villages falling within the YEIDA area. The route is used daily by residents travelling to neighbouring villages, agricultural fields and local markets. In March, a small stretch of the road was repaired ahead of the airport’s inauguration, but a substantial portion remained unattended. The proposed resurfacing is expected to improve travel conditions for both cargo vehicles and local residents while strengthening road connectivity in the airport region, officials added.
