Varanasi: Two accused in Dasu Vanvasi murder case were arrested after suffering bullet injury in their leg during exchange of fire with Saidpur police in Ghazipur district on Saturday late night. Vanvasi was murdered on Feb 9.Ghazipur’s Saidpur police station in-charge Rajesh Kumar Tripathi on Sunday said his team was tipped off that Ras Bihari and Harendra- the two accused in Vanvasi murder case, on whom a cash reward Rs 25,000 is kept, were present near the under-construction fire service station in Sehmalpur village.The police team reached there and surrounded the area when they opened fire on cops in their bid to escape. When police team also retaliated in self-defence, both suffered bullet injury in leg and fell. Police recovered two country-made pistols and cartridges from them and rushed to hospital.They had been absconding since their involvement had come to light in the killing of Vanvasi.
