Times News NetworkPanchkula: Two persons were arrested from Jalandhar for allegedly attempting to murder a man who had recently returned from Canada in Haripur, Sector 4.Police said the accused came to Panchkula with weapons as part of a planned conspiracy and attacked the victim with the intention of killing him. They have obtained seven-day remand of both accused to recover weapons used and to trace the other suspects.Police said a case was registered at Panchkula Sector 5 police station on June 13, on the complaint of Balvinder Singh.The complainant stated that he was sitting outside his house when a white vehicle with several youths inside pulled up. He said they suddenly attacked him with swords, iron rods, and other weapons. One of the accused also fired in the air. Balvinder Singh suffered serious injuries on his head, hands, legs, back, and other parts and was taken to civil hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula, for treatment.During investigation, police identified and recovered the Mahindra XUV500 vehicle used in the crime. Investigation also revealed that several suspects remained in constant contact before and after the attack.A police team arrested accused Vanshdeepak and Jaurav alias Jaura, both residents of Kapurthala district, from Madara village in Jalandhar on July 6, following a tip-off.Investigation revealed that both accused had previously been involved in cases of fighting and assault.
