16-year-old boy goes missing, last seen near Thaltej metro station

Ahmedabad: A frantic search is underway in Ahmedabad after a 16-year-old boy went missing on Friday evening. He was last seen near Thaltej metro station after leaving home around 4pm. His disappearance has sparked concern across the city, with his family turning to social media for help in tracing the teenager. Bodakdev police have launched a search and are scanning CCTV footage. In online posts, relatives described him as wearing glasses and having short dark hair, and urged people to share any information, CCTV footage or sightings that could help trace him.The family’s message struck a chord online, with thousands of social media users amplifying the appeal. In one post, the boy’s sibling said he may have left home after being scolded by his father. “He is very naive, my dad scolded him a bit about his grades today and I think this is why he left home,” the helpless sibling mentioned on social media. The family fears the teenager may be vulnerable on his own.Police have now stepped in to investigate the disappearance. Gujarat Police said teams have been formed to trace the child, while Bodakdev police have launched a search operation and begun gathering details related to his last known movements. Officers are expected to review CCTV footage from Thaltej metro station and surrounding areas as part of the investigation.Tweets and social media posts claimed that the child was seen getting down at Sabarmati metro station, from where he is assumed to have boarded a train. According to the neighbour who is involved in the hunt for the 16-year-old, the boy was last spotted at the Kalupur railway station, from where he may have boarded a train, possibly towards Ujjain or the southern part of the country. Police have alerted railway authorities and asked them to closely monitor trains for any trace of the missing teenager. Police are verifying these claims as part of the investigation.The case remains under active probe as authorities continue to track leads and appeal for public assistance.
