Rajkot: Rajkot city crime branch booked 12 members of the Shamji Maka gang under the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime (GujCTOC) Act for their alleged involvement in organized criminal activities in the Thorala police station jurisdiction.According to deputy commissioner of police Jagdish Bangarwa, the gang was active between 2016 and 2025 and is linked to 22 serious offences over the past decade. “These include attempted murder, grievous assault, kidnapping, robbery, formation of criminal gangs and obstruction of govt officials in discharge of duty,” he said.So far, eight accused — Devsi Makwana, Dilip alias Dilo Chauhan, Chirag alias Bhaylu Makwana, Kiran Khimsuriya, Ajay Jadav, Gautam alias Gogo Baraiya, Nagesh alias Lalu Makwana and Mehul Solanki — have been arrested.
