₹1 lakh rewardee arrested in Lucknow property dealer murder case

Lucknow: The UP STF on Thursday arrested a Rs 1 lakh reward-carrying accused allegedly involved in the murder of Lucknow-based property dealer Sandeep Singh, police said.The accused, Sachin Kumar, 40, a resident ofAmbedkar Nagar, was arrested near the Kisan Path overbridge in the PGI police station.Police recovered an illegal .32-bore pistol allegedly used in the murder, three live cartridges and a bike without a registration plate, which investigators believe was used in the crime.Sandeep was shot dead on May 27 in Lucknow’s PGI area. Two accused, Mubeen and Dinesh Yadav, described by police as the main conspirator, were held on May 31. Gangaram Yadav, alleged to have arranged the contract killers, was arrested on June 15. The alleged main shooter, Sanjay alias Sanjeev, was injured in a police encounter on June 27 and later died during treatment. Additional SP, STF, Deepak Kumar said Sachin told investigators that he rode the motorcycle while Sanjay, seated pillion, carried out the shooting. Sachin was promised Rs 2 lakh to ferry the shooter to the target and act as a standby gunman in case the murder attempt failed. Investigators allege Sanjay fired three bullets at Singh’s chest and head outside his office before the duo fled.The STF said the murder was linked to a long-running land dispute between Singh and Dinesh Yadav. Police alleged Dinesh’s driver Mubeen introduced him to Gangaram Yadav, who had links with history-sheeter Dilip Verma and members of the Khan Mubarak gang.
