Zydus Life Q1 PAT falls 36% to Rs 940 crore as revenue rises 22%

Ahmedabad: Zydus Lifesciences reported a 36% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 940 crore in Q1 FY27, despite a 22% rise in revenue. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 8,017 crore from Rs 6,574 crore a year earlier. EBITDA fell 8% to Rs 1,929 crore, while its margin dropped to 24.1% from 31.8%. Profit before tax declined 32% to Rs 1,307 crore during the quarter.Consumer Wellness drove revenue growth, with sales rising 67% to Rs 1,429 crore. India formulations revenue grew 20% to Rs 1,816 crore, while international markets revenue rose 34% to Rs 974 crore.North America revenue declined 3% to Rs 3,098 crore. The company launched NUFYMCO (ranibizumab), its first biosimilar in the US market, during the quarter. It also completed the acquisition of Assertio Holdings, strengthening its presence in US specialty pharmaceuticals.Zydus spent Rs 642 crore on research and development during the quarter, equivalent to 8% of revenue. Organic capital expenditure stood at Rs 585 crore.The company’s net debt-to-equity ratio stood at 0.22x on June 30, while net debt-to-EBITDA was 0.70x.The US FDA also granted priority review to Zydus’ Saroglitazar Magnesium application for primary biliary cholangitis.
