GURGAON: A dhaba employee was allegedly crushed to death by two youths in a Scorpio after they got angry over not being served food at a dhaba located near Rasulpur Chowk in Palwal. Some other dhaba workers, including the owner, were also injured in the attack. The city police station has registered a case based on a complaint and started a search for the accused.According to police, dhaba owner Vipin Dayal alias Raja, a resident of Sohna Road, told police that he was closing his Royal Dhaba around midnight when a black Scorpio stopped there. Two men, identified as Palender alias Pale, a resident of Bhamrola Jogi, and Gaurav from Rasulpur Road, were inside the vehicle.The two men were allegedly under the influence of alcohol and demanded that food be served despite the dhaba being closed. When Vipin refused and told them that the kitchen had shut, the accused allegedly started abusing him. When he objected, they assaulted Vipin and a dhaba employee, Ranjit, a native of Bihar.Police said that after the assault, Palender started the Scorpio and allegedly ran the vehicle over Ranjit twice. The impact left Ranjit with severe injuries to his spine, back, arms and legs.After the incident, the accused allegedly fled from the spot in the vehicle after threatening the dhaba owner and workers. Other employees present at the dhaba — Raj Kumar, Shatru, Manoj and Jitender — intervened and rushed the injured Ranjit and Vipin to the district civil hospital, where Ranjit died during treatment.An officer said, “A case has been registered on the complaint of Vipin Dayal alias Raja. Police teams are conducting raids to trace the accused, and efforts are underway to arrest them soon.”
