Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday reviewed the progress of major development projects and public welfare schemes at a meeting of State Transformation Commission, directing departments to speed up execution and tighten monitoring across sectors.Focusing on connectivity, Yogi said expressways should be planned not only as transport routes but as economic corridors that catalyse industrial development, investment and employment. Officials told the meeting that the vendor selection process for Chitrakoot Link Expressway is expected to be completed in Sept.On land acquisition, the state has acquired 91.28% of the 1,339.04-hectare requirement for Farrukhabad Link Expressway. Acquisition for other link projects stands at 80.43% for Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal Link Expressway, 84.82% for Jhansi Link Expressway and 79.27% for Jewar Link Expressway.Officials also briefed CM that verification work for Meerut-Haridwar, Vindhya and Vindhya Purvanchal Spur Expressways has been completed, and land acquisition for these projects will begin soon.Reviewing Multi-Modal Logistics Hub in Greater Noida, Yogi directed that logistics projects be expedited to position Uttar Pradesh as a supply-chain hub. He also sought faster implementation of Aqua Business Project in Unnao and asked officials to accelerate pending processes.On public safety, CM reviewed fire safety arrangements in health institutions, hospitals, hotels and guest houses, warning of action in cases of negligence. He instructed the preparation of a digital database of Fire No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and said renewal should be initiated before an NOC’s validity expires to avoid lapses.Taking stock of infrastructure safety in Lucknow, Yogi raised concerns over electrical and OFC cables passing through sewer lines and manholes. He directed that such cables be shifted at the earliest and said works must proceed only after obtaining NOCs from the local body, emphasising strict adherence to safety standards in civic infrastructure.On power supply, CM ordered an assessment of areas reporting excessive line losses, asking officials to identify causes and take concrete measures to curb losses. He said systems to prevent power theft, improve billing and strengthen collections should be made effective, and accountability must be fixed for DISCOM officials in high-loss areas.Reviewing Zero Poverty Campaign, Yogi asked officials to ensure identified families receive housing along with ration, Ayushman cards, toilets and other benefits, and to link at least one member of each family to skill training and employment. He was informed that of 12.50 lakh identified families, nine lakh have been found eligible for housing. Of these, 4.50 lakh are in the eligibility list of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, while around five lakh families are expected to benefit under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. Govt is also registering 6.67 lakh families who do not yet have Ayushman cards.On labour welfare, CM directed that labour points be surveyed and provided with essential facilities including drinking water, toilets, sanitation, bathing arrangements, medical care and food. He called for a special campaign to issue labour cards and Ayushman cards, and instructed that medical mobile units and mobile canteens be made available as required across municipal corporation areas.CM also reviewed the under-construction 30,000-capacity international cricket stadium in Gorakhpur. Officials said construction began in December 2025 and is scheduled for completion by Dec 2027.During a revenue department review, Yogi ordered an investigation into inheritance-related applications cancelled in Prayagraj, directing officials to ensure cancellations were strictly merit-based and that eligible applicants were not affected. He was informed Prayagraj recorded the highest number of cancellations—13,386—in undisputed inheritance cases. CM directed that older cases be disposed of on priority, processes simplified and made time-bound, and regular reviews conducted to prevent land-related disputes from remaining pending unnecessarily.
