Yoga connects body, mind & soul: Gupta

New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday said yoga is not merely a form of exercise but an Indian way of life that connects the body, mind and soul, as she joined International Yoga Day celebrations at Neeli Jheel in Asola Bhatti.The event was part of a series of programmes organised across the capital, with BJP holding collective yoga sessions in all its 256 organisational mandals. Party workers, MPs, MLAs and councillors participated in activities at different venues.Addressing participants, Gupta said yoga reflects India’s ancient wisdom and offers a holistic approach to physical, mental and spiritual well-being. She joined ministers, MPs and local representatives in performing yoga asanas during the programme.Delhi BJP president and Union minister of state Harsh Malhotra participated in a programme at the Yamuna Sports Complex in east Delhi. He said yoga is helping millions of people lead healthier and more disciplined lives. Describing yoga as an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition and culture, he said it is not only a means of maintaining physical fitness but also helps establish harmony between the mind, intellect and soul. He added that International Yoga Day reflects India’s vision of promoting the welfare of humanity through the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”.South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri took part in a yoga programme at Mother Dairy Park in Mehrauli and urged young people to embrace yoga as a daily practice.
