Noida: The area around Noida International Airport is set for a major industrial and logistics push, with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) board on Monday approving a 200-acre multimodal logistics park at Tappal-Bajna and planning an 8,000-hectare industrial node south of the airport.The two projects, cleared at YEIDA’s 93rd board meeting, are expected to bring new industrial activity, jobs and supply chain infrastructure to the airport region. They are also expected to create space for businesses and supporting facilities as development around the airport gathers pace.The logistics park at Tappal-Bajna will be developed with land offered to eligible investors through e-auction. YEIDA CEO RK Singh also stressed on the point that the project would help attract investments and employment and develop the Yamuna area as a major logistics hub.For the much larger industrial node, YEIDA is in the process of appointing a consultant to prepare the master plan. The proposed node is expected to provide land and infrastructure for planned industrial development.The board also approved the YEIDA Corpus Fund Investment Regulation 2026-27 to create a dedicated financial mechanism for maintaining civic infrastructure in the authority area. A one-time lease rent and other eligible non-recurring receipts will be placed in the corpus and invested according to prescribed rules.Interest earned from the fund will be used for upkeep and repairs of roads, water supply, sewerage and drainage systems, street lights, parks, green belts and other civic amenities — infrastructure that will directly support the expanding residential and industrial areas.The board also reviewed the progress on industrial plots. Of 295 plots measuring more than 4,000 sqm, lease deeds have been executed for 181, possession given for 152 and construction started on 69 so far. Production has also begun at 13 units.In Sector 28’s Medical Device Park, 123 of 203 plots have been allotted, while possession has been given for 75 and construction started on 28. Facilities such as a 3D prototype lab, electronics assembly facility, biomaterial facility, common IT facility and tooling room are under development as well.In Sector 29, 159 plots have been allotted in Apparel Park, 503 in MSME Park and 188 in Handicraft Park.YEIDA’s receipts till Sept also jumped 182% to Rs 4,222 crore in 2026-27, against Rs 1,495 crore in the corresponding period last year. Expenditure rose to Rs 5,501 crore, mainly due to land acquisition and loan repayment.
