Noida: Residents of Greater Noida have raised concerns over the deteriorating condition of green belts, footpaths and parks, particularly in Xu 3, Beta 1 and Pari Chowk areas. They said poor maintenance of public spaces has sparked concerns over safety, hygiene and the city’s overall aesthetics.Sector Xu 3 RWA vice president Pankaj Sharma wrote to GNIDA CEO NG Ravi Kumar, highlighting the issues faced by residents due to the overgrowth of dense grass and accumulating garbage on footpaths.“The dense grass creates a constant fear of poisonous creatures and snakes in the sector,” Sharma said, urging the Authority to take immediate action to clean and level the footpaths to ensure the safety of residents.

Harinder Bhati, RWA general secretary of Beta 1, said the roundabouts and green belts in the area are in a state of disrepair. “The condition of all green belts and central verges across Greater Noida city is deplorable,” Bhati said.Residents of the sector said the roundabout near the Migsun Ultimo Society has remained neglected, despite being adopted for maintenance. Residents said no repairs have been carried out.The situation is particularly grave around Pari Chowk, the city’s focal point, where overgrown bushes, dry grass and litter have now replaced the once vibrant greenery. Residents are questioning the horticulture department’s commitment, and many are puzzled by the apparent indifference towards the area. “Despite repeated complaints, the condition of these vital areas continues to deteriorate,” Bhati said. While residents await progress on the ground, officials said revamp work will begin soon, including a makeover of the Pari Chowk area.
