WUD 2025: Delhi showcases emerging design talent and innovation
Glimpses from the Design Show at Made in WUD 2025

Delhi recently hosted a vibrant celebration of creativity as the World University of Design (WUD) presented the first edition of its graduate showcase, Made in WUD (MIW). Held from 30 May to 1 June at the Visual Art Gallery, India Habitat Centre, the event brought together over 50 graduating students displaying projects across design, architecture, fashion, visual arts, communication, interiors, animation and performing arts. The showcase highlighted fresh ideas and innovative thinking from young creators. Students from the School of Fashion presented collections centred on identity, sustainability and storytelling. Their work included modular utility wear, circular children’s clothing made from deadstock fabrics, modern interpretations of traditional block printing, and menswear inspired by underground subcultures. These projects reflected a blend of craftsmanship and contemporary design, supported by industry collaborations that offered real-world experience. The School of Architecture also impressed with projects focused on sustainability and thoughtful use of space. Key ideas included a climate-responsive campus, a bamboo-based innovation centre in Assam, a sustainable hotel in Ujjain, and a transit-oriented development plan for Connaught Place. These concepts aimed to address environmental concerns while considering local context and materials. Dr Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor of WUD, said, “MIW is a platform to celebrate the spirit of our students — their grit, originality, and ambition.” The event, held in Delhi for the first time, aimed to connect students with industry leaders and wider audiences, while showcasing the future of design education in India.
