Hyderabad: A 36-year-old woman who attempted suicide along with a man with whom she was allegedly in an extramarital relationship died late Wednesday night while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital. The man continues to receive medical care.The deceased, Gulivendula Neelaveni, and Sriram Sirish Kumar, both natives of Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh, had reportedly eloped to Coimbatore about a month ago. After learning of their whereabouts, Sirish Kumar’s wife travelled to Coimbatore in search of him.Sirish Kumar’s wife located the couple in Coimbatore. Following counselling, they agreed to return to Hyderabad. All three boarded the Sabari Express for the journey back.As the train approached Secunderabad Railway Station, Sirish Kumar and Neelaveni allegedly consumed poison and lost consciousness. Sirish Kumar’s wife immediately alerted the police. Both were shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment.While undergoing treatment, Neelaveni succumbed at around 1 am on Thursday. Sirish Kumar remains under treatment, and doctors are closely monitoring his condition.Investigators are probing the circumstances that led to the alleged suicide attempt, including how the pair obtained the poison.
