Ahmedabad: A 72-year-old woman returned home in Vastrapur from Mumbai after nearly two months in Mumbai for her husband’s cancer treatment only to find it burgled.According to the complaint filed with Vastrapur police, the woman, a retiree, lived at her daughter’s in Mumbai for nearly 55 days for the treatment of her husband’s oesophageal cancer. When she returned home in Ashray Apartments near the HP petrol pump on Wednesday, she found signs of a break-in and realised that valuables had been stolen from the house.Police said the residence had remained locked for almost two months, making it difficult to determine exactly when the burglary took place.Inspector G M Chaudhary of Vastrapur police said a case of burglary has been registered and an investigation has been launched. Police teams have started collecting and analysing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the suspects and establish the sequence of events.
