Gurgaon: A 55-year-old woman died during treatment after she was allegedly hit by a speeding motorcycle near Ghamroj toll on the Sohna-Gurgaon road on May 28. Bhondsi police on Sunday registered a case against an unidentified rider.The deceased, Bhagwati, was a native of Agra in UP and worked as a security guard at a private company in Badshahpur. She lived in rented accommodation in Ghamroj village with her younger son.According to a complaint lodged by her elder son, Akash, Bhagwati was returning home after completing her duty shift when the accident occurred around 7.30pm, shortly after she crossed the toll. Akash alleged that the motorcycle rider was speeding and driving rashly when he struck Bhagwati from behind. She fell on the road and sustained serious injuries.Passers-by shifted her to Ayushman Hospital near Hero Honda Chowk. After being informed about the accident, Akash reached the hospital, where his mother allegedly told him that a motorcycle had hit her from behind while she was walking home.As her condition worsened, family members shifted her to the civil hospital in Sector 10, where doctors declared her dead on Sunday.Following the death, Akash approached Bhondsi police station and submitted a written complaint along with the medico-legal case documents. After preliminary verification, police registered a case under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of BNS.Investigators said CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the motorcycle rider and establish the sequence of events. Further investigation is underway, police said.Police said Bhagwati’s husband died in 2015 and she is survived by her two sons.
