MUMBAI: Juhu Police are investigating an incident in which a woman driving a BMW allegedly tried to run over a traffic policeman who was attempting to stop her after a collision. Police said they had identified the woman and would register an FIR after recording the traffic policeman’s complaint. They are also examining CCTV footage.A video of the incident has gone viral on X.The incident took place late on Friday in Juhu. The woman allegedly rammed her BMW into another vehicle and attempted to flee. An on-duty traffic policeman who witnessed the collision stepped in front of the car to stop her. However, she allegedly continued driving even as the policeman banged on the vehicle in an attempt to make her stop.Several bystanders also knocked on the car windows and urged the woman to stop, warning that she was putting the policeman’s life at risk. She allegedly ignored their pleas.The woman stopped only after a bystander opened one of the rear doors of the BMW. She then began recording the incident on her phone.“We have identified the woman. We will record the complaint of the concerned traffic policeman and register an FIR against her. We are also studying CCTV footage,” a senior police officer said.
