New Delhi: A woman was held hostage at knifepoint, tied up and robbed of Rs 75 lakh at her residence in northwest Delhi’s Ashok Vihar Wednesday.According to police, a PCR call was received about the robbery from E-Block, Phase-I, at Ashok Vihar police station.Cops rushed to the spot and found that four people had allegedly forcibly entered the woman’s house before threatening her with a knife, tying up her hands and legs, and fleeing with the cash.Police said the woman sustained simple abrasions and was medically examined afterwards.A case under sections 309 (robbery), 311 (robbery or dacoity accompanied by a deadly weapon) and 3 (5) (common intention) under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered.Multiple police teams have been formed to further investigate the case and CCTV footage from the nearby areas is being analysed to trace and apprehend the accused, police said.Just earlier this month, an elderly couple was held hostage at their home and assaulted by four armed men before they fled with valuables worth over Rs 1 crore in north Delhi’s Roop Nagar.In May, two men entered a house through an open front gate while a woman was home alone. They overpowered her, tied her to a bed, snatched her almirah keys and looted the locker of Rs 8 lakh in cash and jewellery.
