Lucknow: A 60-year-old woman died after collapsing while trying to intervene in a dispute between her husband and son in Saadatganj. Police have detained the son for questioning.The incident occurred in Takia Peer Gyan locality. The deceased, Zeenat alias Marjana, stepped in when an argument broke out between her husband, Rais Ahmad, and their son Salman, who allegedly returned home intoxicated around 12.30 am.Police said the altercation escalated quickly, prompting Zeenat to intervene. During the scuffle, she reportedly slipped, fell and lost consciousness. Family members rushed her to the Trauma Centre, where doctors declared her dead.Angered by the incident, locals allegedly tied Salman to a hand pump when he returned from the hospital and alerted the police. He broke down when taken into custody and pleaded to see his mother.SHO Saadatganj Santosh Arya inspected the body and said no external injury marks were found during preliminary examination.Police said the exact cause of death would be confirmed after the post-mortem. Salman remains in custody and is being questioned.Further action will be decided based on the post-mortem findings and investigation, police said.
