Ludhiana: BJP chief Nitin Nabin on Sunday admitted to the 2027 elections in Punjab being a challenge for the saffron party, but nothing was impossible if the party’s workers wanted to emerge victorious.Addressing a gathering of BJP workers here, Nabin said, “I know it is not going to an easy thing to win elections in Punjab but once the workers will decide, nothing is impossible.” Nabin, who started his three-day maiden tour of Punjab as the saffron party’s chief on Saturday, addressed party workers from all across the state. He appealed to party workers to give a strong fight to opponents and establish a BJP govt here for the development of the state. Nabin vowed to free Punjab of drugs, crime and debt by 2047. “Some people are using Punjab govt as their ATM and they are looting the hard earned money of people living here in this state which is known for its bravery and courage,” he said. He added Punjab could grow only in the hands of BJP.Nabin claimed that Bihar was once known for “jungle raj”, but things got under control after BJP took over. “A similar situation is now visible in Punjab. Instead of making it manufacturing hub, Punjab has been converted into a hub for drugs. Here also, BJP govt is required for full development,” he said. He asked party workers to visit each polling booth, every street of Punjab and raise public grievances. He said he had come to Ludhiana in 2012, when there used to be small units. “I was hoping these units will grow bigger, but now the situation has deteriorated,” he added. “Many industries used Covid-19 as an opportunity; but, in case of Punjab, it lagged even at that time. We do not want it should suffer more,” he claimed. Nabin appealed to Punjab citizens to give BJP a chance at least once, saying that PM Narendra Modi had great respect for the state and its people.Punjab protects India’s soul, says NabinAddressing a Sant Sammelan in Jalandhar on Sunday, BJP national president Nitin Nabin said Punjab not only protected the country’s borders but also safeguarded the soul of India.Calling Punjab the land of the Gurus’ teachings, saints’ penance and martyrs’ sacrifices, Nabin said bringing the state out of its present crisis and making it secure, prosperous and strong was the BJP’s core agenda.Urging religious organisations to help tackle the drug menace, he said the Sikh tradition’s message of “Na Ko Bairi, Nahi Begana” reflected the true spirit of both Punjab and India.“We want to provide Punjab with a governance model where every religion, every sect, every dera and every community moves forward with equal dignity and respect,” he said.Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon, Union minister of state Ravneet Singh Bittu, former Punjab BJP presidents Sunil Jakhar and Avinash Rai Khanna, Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney and BJP Punjab media head Vineet Joshi were also present.
