Will provide govt jobs to 1 lakh youths in next 6 months: Yogi

Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that the Uttar Pradesh govt would provide one lakh more govt jobs to youths in the next six months, taking the total recruitment figure to around 10.5 lakh.Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a Kalyan Mandapam at Jungle Nakha No. 2, the CM said, “Around 9.5 lakh youths have so far been provided govt jobs. The recruitment process for another one lakh posts will be completed before the announcement of elections.”Yogi claimed that the recruitment processes before 2017 were managed by “Saifai syndicate” which used to collect money when govt vacancies were announced. “The future of the youth was at stake,” he said.Yogi also highlighted employment generated through industrial development in Gorakhpur. Referring to the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), he said around 500 factories had been established in the industrial area, providing employment to nearly 50,000 youths. He said the growth of industries also helped reduce migration from the region and created new opportunities for local youngsters.Linking employment with law and order, the CM said a secure environment was essential for investment, industrialisation and development. He claimed that Uttar Pradesh had transformed from a “BIMARU” state into one of the country’s fastest-growing economies.“The state is now attracting investment because of improved infrastructure, connectivity and law and order. The govt is working to create further employment opportunities for young people through industrial expansion and development projects,” he said.“Uttar Pradesh is now known for rule of law and is free from curfews, riots and anarchy. Mafias in Uttar Pradesh are either in jail or have undertaken a journey to the other world,” he said.He said poor law and order, extortion and disorder before 2017 discouraged outsiders from working in the state. “Today, Uttar Pradesh is attracting investment and becoming known for improved infrastructure, industrial growth and connectivity,” the CM said.He also cautioned people against those who, he alleged, sought to divide society on caste, regional and linguistic lines.“Development is the result of social unity,” he said, adding that such divisions could once again create an atmosphere of curfew and riots. He also criticised previous SP and Congress govts, saying the city’s poor sanitation and health conditions before 2017 were a result of their “dirty mindset”.The CM also launched and laid the foundation stone for 119 development projects worth around Rs 40 crore in Gorakhpur.
