Wild bees kill Hisar farmer

Hisar: A family has been left without its sole breadwinner after wild bees swarmed and killed a farmer at work in his field at Petwar village.The victim, Vedpal, was collecting green fodder for his cattle on Sunday morning when a swarm of hill bees set upon him suddenly. Despite his desperate attempts to flee, the insects continued to sting him until he was injured critically. A neighbour, initially believing the man was being attacked by a monkey, rushed to help but was also stung and forced back.Before losing consciousness, Vedpal managed to phone his family for help. Relatives used smoke eventually to disperse the swarm and move Vedpal to the civil hospital in Narnaund, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The tragedy has devastated the local community, as Vedpal was the only source of income for his wife and three children. His daughters and son are all students.The family has appealed to the local administration for financial assistance to help cover living costs and ensure the children can continue their education.
