Pune: The Koregaon Park police have registered a case of attempt to murder against the personal assistant (PA) to a state cabinet minister based on a complaint by the PA’s wife (30) accusing him of attempting to strangle her in their residence at Queens Garden in Koregaon Park around 8.30pm on April 30. The complainant also alleged that her husband (40) assaulted her and their nine-year-old son with a cricket bat, police said.Senior inspector Vijayraj Doke of Koregaon Park police station told TOI, “The complainant had left Pune for her village in Ahilyanagar district after the incident. She lodged a complaint with the Ahilyanagar police, and the same was transferred to Pune city police on Sunday night. We can only comment on the case after recording the woman’s statement.”According to the FIR, the complainant and her husband had been facing marital discord for the past three to four years. They frequently argued over several domestic issues. The FIR further states that on April 30, the husband picked up an argument with the complainant, then took a rope and tried to strangle her. Later, he picked up a cricket bat and started assaulting her. When their son tried to intervene, he was also beaten with the bat, the FIR stated.
