Lucknow: A widow has accused two men of luring her into an SUV on the pretext of handing over land documents, drugging her with a spiked soft drink and attempting to rape her while the vehicle was in motion.Police have registered an FIR in the case and launched an investigation. According to the complaint lodged at Wazirganj police station, the woman, a resident of the Rae Bareli road area whose husband passed away some time ago, was looking to buy an 800-square-foot plot. During this process, she came in contact with a property dealer from Nagram, who allegedly introduced her to another man claiming to be the owner of the land.The woman alleged that after being shown the plot on May 21, she agreed to buy it and paid ₹50,000 in cash as advance. However, when she sought copies of key land documents, including the khatauni, sale deed, khasra and an order under Section 80, the accused allegedly delayed handing them over, asking her to wait for a few days.According to the FIR, on May 29 she was asked to come to the civil court premises in Kaisarbagh to collect the documents. The complainant alleged that one of the accused then took her towards the Residency area, where another man was waiting in a black SUV. She claimed the accused told her that a lawyer was bringing the papers and persuaded her to sit inside the vehicle.The woman alleged that despite repeatedly declining, she was offered a soft drink several times. After consuming part of it, she began feeling dizzy and drowsy. She claimed the accused then molested her and attempted to sexually assault and rape her inside the moving SUV. When she raised an alarm and banged on the doors and windows, the accused allegedly pushed her out near the Chief Medical Officer’s office before fleeing. She further alleged that she later received threatening calls warning her against approaching police.SHO Rajesh Kumar Tripathi said an FIR has been registered and the matter is under investigation.
