NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of India on Wednesday, with Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and other regions likely to experience intense showers. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also expected in parts of central, eastern and southern India.Delhi is expected to remain without any significant weather warning on Wednesday, while rainfall activity is likely to increase in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other areas later in the week.IMD alert for WednesdayThe IMD has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Assam and Meghalaya, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.Very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also likely over parts of central, eastern, western and southern India.A thundersquall, with winds reaching 50-60 kmph and gusting to 70 kmph, is likely over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.Delhi-NCR weather tomorrowDelhi and the surrounding areas are not under any significant IMD warning for Wednesday. The region is expected to see generally dry conditions, with rainfall activity forecast to increase later in the week.
