Water supply to be hit in Aishbagh, Balaganj today
Residents collect water in containers as a scheduled power shutdown at the Aishbagh substation is expected to disrupt evening supply in several Lucknow localities on Saturday.

Lucknow: Around five lakh residents in various parts of the city are likely to face disruption to drinking water supply on Saturday due to a scheduled power shutdown at the Aishbagh electricity substation, the Jal Kal department said on Friday.The department has advised residents in areas supplied by the Aishbagh and Balaganj waterworks to store sufficient drinking water during the morning supply hours to avoid inconvenience.According to the department, power supply at the Aishbagh substation will remain suspended from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday. The shutdown is expected to affect operations at the Aishbagh waterworks, resulting in disruption to the evening water supply in several localities.The areas to be affected include Lalbagh, Kaiserbagh, Maulviganj, Mall Avenue, parts of Hazratganj, Latouche Road, Naka Hindola, Charbagh, Yahiyaganj, Aishbagh, Bhadevan, Motinagar, Aryanagar, Garhi Kanaura, Karehta, Ambedkar Nagar, Chhitwapur, Mankameshwar, parts of Babuganj, Nishatganj, New Hyderabad and Faizabad Road.Water supply from the Balaganj waterworks is also likely to be affected during the evening in areas such as Chowk, Saadatganj, Kashmiri Mohalla, Daulatganj, Thakurganj, Campbell Road, Kanhaiya Madhavpur, Khadra-Musahibganj, Iqbal Nagar Khanti, Purvi Devi Mandir area, Guftiganj, Balaganj, Ahmadganj Pajawa, Gaunghat and Rajajipuram.General manager, Jal Kal, Kuldeep Singh appealed to residents of the affected localities to store sufficient drinking water during the morning supply period.
