Watch: Telangana cop's son uses police bike for ride-hailing app; SI under radar
A government police bike meant for emergency response was allegedly used for taxi services.

WARANGAL: A govt-provided police bike meant for emergency response was allegedly used to provide bike taxi services in Warangal, prompting the police department to initiate disciplinary action against a sub-inspector.The bike, allotted to the Enumamula police station Blue Colts team for official duties, was allegedly being used by Siddharth, the son of SI Shankar, to ferry customers.According to police, a customer booked a bike taxi from Ambedkar Junction to Subedari for 26 on Tuesday. When the rider arrived, the customer was surprised to find that the bike bore police markings. The customer questioned the rider and recorded a video of the interaction.In the video, the rider reportedly admitted that the bike belonged to a police officer and that he was using it to operate rides. The video soon went viral on social media.Confirming the incident, Enumamula CI J Suresh said the motorcycle belonged to the Enumamula police station and had been allotted to SI Shankar for official duties.“We found that the SI’s son was using the govt motorcycle to operate rides. We cautioned the SI and submitted a report to the Warangal police commissioner recommending disciplinary action against him,” Suresh said.The state govt had provided bikes to police personnel attached to police stations in Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet to enable quicker response to emergencies. Police said action will be taken based on the departmental inquiry.
