AHMEDABAD: A traffic police constable is likely to face disciplinary action after he allegedly threw a brick at a truck while trying to stop it for entering a no-entry zone in Thakkarnagar, officials said.The incident occurred when the constable, attached to the I-Division Traffic Police, attempted to stop the truck after spotting it allegedly violating the no-entry restriction.According to preliminary information, the driver ignored the constable’s instructions to stop and allegedly tried to drive away.To prevent the truck from fleeing, the constable reportedly picked up and threw a brick at the vehicle. The truck was subsequently stopped, and the driver was detained and taken to the police station.The truck driver has been booked for a traffic violation, police said.Meanwhile, the constable’s conduct has also come under scrutiny. I-Division Traffic Police PI S Sumara has written to senior officers seeking action against the constable.Sumara said the constable is likely to face disciplinary proceedings for allegedly using the brick to stop the vehicle.Senior officers are expected to examine the circumstances of the incident and decide on the nature of disciplinary action against the constable.
