Voters who receive SIR notice can submit documents online

Mumbai: Citizens who receive notices asking for additional documents because their enumeration forms under the special intensive revision (SIR) are unmapped or have discrepancies, can submit the requisite papers online. They may not be called for a physical hearing if the documents are satisfactory, officials have said.They can submit the documents on the Citizens Services Portal on the website of the Election Commission of India. They should search the SIR 2026 corner and upload them on ‘Submit document against notice issued’.“The ECI website permits the submission of documents online,” said state’s chief electoral officer S Chockalingam.Around 1.2 crore voters in the SIR draft list for the state are set to receive notices because their forms are not mapped to the 2002-04 electoral roll or because there are anomalies or a mismatch (including name, age and address) in the details of their enumeration form and the previous electoral roll.Among the 20.9 lakh voters in Mumbai who are set to receive notices for additional documents, the highest numbers are from densely populated areas ,including the assembly constituencies of Malad West (1.1 lakh), Charkop (85,938), Borivli (80,484) and Dharavi (79,676).The constituencies with the lowest unmapped enumeration forms and anomalies are Worli (33,554), Wadala (36,790), Vikhroli (37,231), Malabar Hill (39,054) and Shivadi (39,557), shows the data.The areas with the highest unmapped forms are the assembly constituencies of Malad West (61,867), Borivli (60,072), Kandivli (6,0026), Charkop (59,524). The lowest unmapped forms were reported in Byculla (17,272), Bandra East (17,276) and Kurla (20,985).The highest anomalies were found in Malad West (49,703), Mankhurd Shivajinagar (31,867) and Dharavi (30,991). The lowest anomalies were seen in the assembly constituencies of Byculla (8,189), Malabar Hill (8,497) and Worli (8,563).Electors who receive notices for unmapped forms or anomalies have until October 29 to respond and provide the documents. Those whose documents do not stand scrutiny stand to be excluded from the final roll. The final electoral roll of the SIR in the state will be published on November 4.
