CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister C Joseph Vijay has recalled the genocide that happened in Mullivaikkal in Sri Lanka back in 2009 where lakhs of Sri Lankan Tamils were killed by Lankan armed forces. Vijay on X expressed solidarity with Tamils living across the world on Mullivaikkal remembrance day on Monday. “We shall carry the memories of Mullivaikkal in our hearts. We will always stand in solidarity for the rights of our Tamils living across the world,” Vijay said. This is the first time after becoming CM that Vijay has spoken about Eelam Tamils and the genocide that happened in Sri Lanka. This comes after Sri Lankan MP Ramanathan Archchuna insisted Vijay to speak for Eelam Tamils, during his visit to TN secretariat recently.
