Varanasi: The e-office system has now been implemented at Varanasi Central Jail. The new system is intended to facilitate swift implementation of administrative orders, official correspondence, prisoner releases and other essential govt related tasks. Until now, the jail administration depended on the postal system or staff for any government order, letter, or directive. This often caused unnecessary delays in the receipt of orders and subsequent action. The new system will allow officers to instantly view documents online and take immediate necessary action on them. Varanasi Central jail superintendent, Radha Krishna Mishra, said that through e-office, any order received from any department will now reach the concerned officers immediately. This will reduce the problem of pending files and speed up the decision-making process. Additionally, there will no longer be delays in correspondence sent from the jail to the administration and other departments.He added that this digital system will also facilitate secure record-keeping, document monitoring, and online tracking of tasks. Along with increased transparency in administrative functions, accountability will also improve.
