Chennai: Social Justice minister Vanni Arasu on Friday thanked leader of the opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin, for campaigning for him ahead of the assembly election this year. In response, Udhayanidhi said VCK chief Thirumavalavan was his political mentor.“During the campaign, the LoP said that my victory was more important than his own. I thank every DMK member responsible for my victory. However, none of the DMK leaders bothered to thank our leader, Thirumavalavan,” Vanni Arasu said.In response, Udhayanidhi said, “It was never a mere electoral alliance with Thirumavalavan; it is an ideological alliance. I have publicly declared multiple times that I accept Thirumavalavan as my political mentor. We hold immense gratitude for him.”Vanni Arasu earlier said VCK’s goal was social justice and equality, which was the objective behind joining the cabinet. “I came from the ashes of torched huts burned in communal clashes,” he said.
