Guwahati: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has raised a 150-foot national tricolour at its knowledge park, adding one of the tallest flag installations in the region to its campus landscape.The event was marked by patriotic celebrations, including a lively performance by the SFS School Girls Band from Narengi.The flag, installed in collaboration with Mumbai-based DK Flag Foundation, stands as a symbol of national pride and unity. USTM stated that the installation also reflects its commitment to nurturing responsible citizens and empowering young minds.The flag was hoisted by a team from the DK Flag Foundation, led by Dr Rakesh Bakshi, along with USTM women NCC cadets and members. Among the dignitaries present were USTM vice-chancellor Prof. GD Sharma, Ri-Bhoi additional SP Orville Massar, CRPF DIG Anil Bisht, former University of Mumbai vice-chancellor Dr Sanjay Deshmukh and USTM chancellor Mahbubul Hoque.
