Varanasi: Police commissioner Mohit Agarwal called upon newly inducted constables and officer-rank policemen to be techno-savvy in order to combat modern-age crime and issues effectively.He was conducting annual inspection of Sigra and Bhelupur police stations on Saturday evening. While interacting with newly inducted constables following completion of their training, he said their focus should be on seeking regular training to get used to digital tools. He asked officials to conduct regular practical exercises to make the constables tech-savvy and proficient in modern technologies, with the aim of making them a valuable asset to the department.Instructions were issued to provide them adequate knowledge of CCTNS, CDR analysis, CCTV and DVR operation, e-evidence and e-summons system, Operation Chakravyuh, Yaksha App and RTC system. Emphasis was on keeping newly recruited constables away from office work in the initial phase and making them proficient in field duty.The police commissioner also directed officials to ensure availability of basic amenities, including accommodation, food and clean drinking water. He emphasised 100% beat allocation by pairing each newly appointed constable with experienced personnel to help them gain practical field experience.He sought information on progress in creating Special Investigation Division (SID) and the investigation register and directed officials to ensure 100% unique SID in every case and quality, impartial and time-bound disposal within 60 days.Important among others, DCP Kashi Zone Gaurav Banshwal and ADCP Vaibhav Bangar were present during both inspections.
