Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Board of Revenue (BOR) has launched three online portals to speed up revenue-related cases and make it easier for people to track their cases and land-record applications online.Board chairperson Archana Agrawal launched the e-filing portal, lower court record portal and a trial version of the Section 34 mutation portal.Officials said the e-filing portal will allow people to register new revenue cases online and check their progress without repeatedly visiting offices.The lower court record portal will allow records of cases to be sent digitally from lower revenue courts to the Board. At present, physical movement of records can take time. The online system is expected to speed up the process and reduce the chances of files being misplaced.Agrawal said the e-filing and court record portals will initially be used at the board level. They will later be extended to divisional and district levels and linked with the Revenue Court Computerised Management System.The existing offline system will also continue so that people who cannot use the online facility can still file their cases manually.BOR commissioner and secretary Kanchan Verma said mutation cases under Section 34 form the largest category of cases received by the Board.The new mutation portal will allow applicants and officials to track how long a case has been pending and help identify delays at different stages.The portal will initially be tested in Shravasti, Banda, Balrampur and Hardoi districts before being introduced across Uttar Pradesh.Verma said there has been no change in the law or procedure governing Section 34 mutation cases. Only their tracking and monitoring are being shifted online.Officials said the system is expected to reduce repeated visits to revenue offices and help ensure that cases are disposed of within the prescribed time.
