Chandigarh: UP Challengers clinched the 6th Wheelchair Cricket Championship 2026 title, defeating Chhattisgarh Fighters by 68 runs in the final at Panjab University Sunday.Batting first, UP Challengers posted 153/4 in 15 overs, with Hublal scoring an unbeaten 63 and Jaydev Yadav blasting 36 off 16 balls. Chhattisgarh Fighters were restricted to 85/7 despite Komal Yadav’s unbeaten 57. Basantlal Bind took three wickets, while Rinku claimed two.The winners and runners-up were felicitated by IAS officer Parminder Pal Singh, actress Diljott and WCFI president Kavita Rawat. The dignitaries praised the wheelchair cricketers’ determination and sportsmanship, saying such events promote inclusion and empower persons with disabilities through sport.
