Ahmedabad: The body of an unidentified young man was found on Friday afternoon in a water-filled pit in an open plot near the busy road connecting LJ College to YMCA in the Sarkhej area.Passersby noticed the body floating in the pit located near Mumatpura village and immediately alerted the local authorities.A team from the Sarkhej police station quickly reached the spot, removed the body from the water with the help of locals, and called a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team for an on-site examination.Preliminary inspections revealed no immediate clues, but the exact cause of death will be determined after experts conduct the postmortem examination.Police have launched an investigation and are scanning nearby CCTV footage to establish the deceased’s identity and determine whether the death was accidental, a case of suicide, or involves foul play.In the meantime, details of the deceased have been circulated to neighbouring police stations to cross-check against recent missing person complaints.An accidental death report has been registered as officers continue to search for potential witnesses.
